From the office to dinner—great products to put in your beauty emergency kit

By: Ashley Kowalewski

When people think emergency kits, they think that box you put in your car that includes bandages, alcohol swabs, and tissues. What most women need at their office is an emergency kit full of beauty products for those days when you’re dashing from the office to dinner—especially on such a lovely day as Valentine’s Day. Here are some of our top beauty picks to put in your emergency kit:

Blotting papers: Since you probably don’t want to wash off all of your makeup and have to redo it before you go out, the next best thing is to have some of The Body Shop’s tea tree oil blotting papers on hand. Just blot on your face to remove any excess oil before you reapply your makeup.

Liquid eyeliner:Using a liquid eyeliner instead of pencil can give a more defined line and can instantly bring your look from daytime chic to night time sexy. M.A.C. has liquid eyelinersthat are water-based and water-resistant, and have a hint of shimmer that brightens your eyes, and lasts all night.

Day-to-Night Colour Palette: Instead of having to carry around ten different palettes of eye shadow, try Benefit Cosmetics’ I’m Glam… Therefore I am. It comes with an eyeshadow palette, blush, lip-gloss, mascara, and a small bottle of their Girl Meets Pearl light pink highlighter, and brushes to put all of it on.

Highlighter: After a long day of work one of the best things to do is brighten your face with a highlighter (not the yellow one you find on your desk). Watt’s Up by Benefit Cosmetics has a cream-to-powder finish, giving you a luminescent sheen, without looking too overdone.

With all of these great products, you need something to house your emergency kit supplies. Lots of cosmetic stores sell cosmetic bags in a variety of sizes and colours, but you’ll want to get one that makes people jealous of your emergency kit.
